TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (FTN) – A pair of Vigo County parents say their three-year-old has checked out it Halloween, skipped Thanksgiving, and is already asking about Christmas.
Up until about a week ago, Alex Essex was all about costumes, pumpkins, and free candy. After going to a trick or treating event in downtown Terre Haute last week, he has reportedly moved on.
Chris and Ami are Alex’s parents. They say he was looking forward to Halloween.
“He has his Thomas costume. He was so into pumpkins, and Halloween songs,” Ami said.
Parents say a lot has changed in the last week. Alex, once afraid of Christmas trees, became obsessed with then. He also reportedly started wanting to only watch Christmas movies and listen to Christmas music.
“Is Santa coming tonight?” Alex asked. “No. Santa is at the North Pole making presents. We need to put the tree up first.”
Alex’s dad, Chris, says Alex has been watching and listening music nonstop.
“Super Simple Christmas songs. That’s all he’s wanted to watch. I’m okay with it. Since he was born we’ve gotten really into Christmas,” Chris said.
Both parents say Alex not being into Halloween much at this point is probably a good thing, because he’s been sick since the weekend.
