TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (FTN) – A Terre Haute dad says he considered calling in sick to work, until he realized it would probably be less relaxing at home.
According to Chris Essex, on Monday he woke up “really…really tired.”
“When I heard Alex wake up at like, 7:00 a.m. I thought to myself…there’s no way I can do today…I’m staying home from work,” Essex said.
Medical records indicated Essex has a diabetic low early Monday morning, causing him to be more tired than normal.
“Yeah, it was a low…I was up at like 3:00 a.m. I think I had like two things of yogurt…a nutrigrain bar, and a bowl of marshmallows.”
Essex said that if were to fake sick, however, he would have a higher workload at home.
“Oh. My wife would let me handle it all…telling me since I was off and okay, she would be relaxing. No. I’ll go to work…I at least get my hour lunch break to do whatever I want there. Plus I can listen to adult music,” Essex told us.
Essex said he considering taking a nap if Alex does.
