TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (FTN) – Police are investing after a Vigo County toddler is accused of starting a dog riding ring.
According to the police report, two-year-old Alexander Essex has been attempting their eight-year-old yellow lab named Anya.
Investigators tell us they are looking into other reports to try to determine if other animals are involved.
“This is one of the worst cases of dog riding I’ve ever seen in my years as sheriff. She (Anya) is not a horse. Dogs are not made to be ridden,” Sheriff Woody told us in an emailed statement.
We reached out to the boy’s parents for comment.
So far, we haven’t heard back.
Last month, we first told you about two cats hoping to start a “Toddler-Cat Watch List.”
This incident involves that same toddler.
We will continue to follow this story and bring you more information as soon as it becomes available.
